Pregnancy and Related Conditions
Baylor University is committed to providing a supportive learning, living, and working environment that promotes equity and prohibits harassment or discrimination for members of the University community who are pregnant or parenting. Baylor University offers pregnant and parenting students and employees various supports, accommodations, and protections to ensure our commitment to creating this environment. Assistance with specific concerns or needs should be directed to the offices below:
- Individuals seeking accommodations based on medical need or experiencing a medical disability related to pregnancy or childbirth should connect with the Office of Access and Learning Accommodation (for students) or Human Resources (for employees).
- Individuals interested in or in need of additional supportive resources related to pregnancy and parenting may utilize the list of resources below and/or connect with the Director of Care Team Services (for students) or Employment Assistance Program (for employees).
- Individuals who have concerns related to harassment or discrimination on the basis of pregnant or parenting status should connect with the Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office (for students and employees).
Voluntary Leave of Absence
Students and employees may take a voluntary leave of absence for pregnancy and related conditions in accordance with University policies. In such instances, when the individual returns they will be reinstated to the status, as practicable, they held prior to the leave.
Lactation Spaces
The University has lactation spaces on campus for students and employees. Students and employees will receive reasonable break time to express breast milk or breastfeed.
